Rob is a a 1992 graduate of Clark University and a 1996 graduate of Washington University School of Law in St. Louis. While in law school, Rob was elected to The Order of the Coif and served as the managing editor of The Devil’s Advocate. After graduation, Rob practiced as a prosecutor in the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office.
In 1999, Rob began practicing in Maine as a Domestic Violence prosecutor with the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office. He then joined the litigation firm of Friedman Babcock & Gaythwaite where he practiced insurance and criminal defense law. In 2001, Rob formed his own practice to focus exclusively on criminal defense. In 2019, the Law Office of Robert J. Ruffner became Ruffner-Greenbaum in recognition of attorney Greenbaum’s skill, experience and loyalty.
Rob is a member of the American Bar Association, Maine Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Maine State Bar Association and a Life Member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is admitted to practice in Maine as well as in the Federal District Court of Maine.
